Providence is calling a Doula (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence in Portland, OR.
Come join our small, diverse Doula team and partner with Midwives and Providers to ease the way of our patients during the birthing process. A successful candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about birth work.
This is an on call position supporting within our Providence Portland and St. Vincent Medical Centers. Must be flexible to work days or nights.
In this position, you will:
Serve as a trained and experienced professional who provides physical, emotional and informational support to pregnant women, their partners and families before, during and immediately after birth.
Work collaboratively with midwives, nurses or other medical staff as part of an integrated care team.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Birth Doula Certification through a recognized certifying organization (e.g. International Center for Traditional Childbearing (ICTC), Doula Organization of North America (DONA), Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), The Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators (ALACE), International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), Birthingway College of Midwifery)
2 years of experience as a Doula and/or 15 births attended as the primary Doula
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Additional Doula training in childbirth education, labor support and breastfeeding
3 years of experience as a Doula
Ability to speak a second language, (Spanish) is highly desireable
