Providence Health & Services RN Lactation Consultant - Postpartum Care Center in Milwaukie, Oregon
Providence is calling a RN Lactation Consultant - Postpartum Care Center (0.6 FTE, Days) to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie, OR. This benefited position will typically consist of a Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 11:15am-5:00pm schedule.
In this position, you will:
Be accountable for the direct and indirect care for infants and women both in the inpatient or outpatient clinic setting.
Be responsible to provide postpartum maternal and neonatal assessments.
Develop feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support, breast pumping support, and supplementation as appropriate.
Provide lactation support and education to mothers as directed by referral or in the clinic setting after discharge.
Perform all duties in a manner that supports team concept caring and respect reflecting the philosophy of the Department of nursing and the Sisters of Providence Mission.
Required qualificationsfor this position include:
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
Unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
Infant and adult Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers
3 years of experience providing lactation care in a Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, or NICU department or in an outpatient mother baby clinical setting
Successful completion of an accredited college level lactation certification program that includes 300 hours or more of precepted clinical lactation experience may be substituted for years of prior experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
